The third Digiroad data publication of 2010 is released on July the 15th.
The geometry and address data obtained from the National Land Survey of Finland contains the changes made to the data by the 11th of March 2010.
Data updates have been received from the GIS-system of The Finnish Transport Agency. The updates include pavement, width, number of lanes, traffic volume information as well as the speed limits during winter, which are now released for the first time. Road addresses have also been updated according to the situation in the end of March.
During this maintenance period data has been updated for 32 municipalities (Evijärvi, Huittinen, Imatra, Pietarsaari, Juankoski, Kaavi, Kangasala, Kankaanpää, Keitele, Keminmaa, Kirkkonummi, Kittilä, Kristiinankaupunki, Kuhmo, Lappajärvi, Lempäälä, Leppävirta, Loimaa, Mäntsälä, Nurmes, Nurmijärvi, Närpiö, Raahe, Ruokolahti, Savonlinna, Siilinjärvi, Sonkajärvi, Sotkamo, Suonenjoki, Teuva, Toivakka and Varkaus). Several municipalities have also sent feedback e.g. about new streets and the information has been passed on to the National Land Survey.
User feedback has been received about e.g. road addresses, street names and missing street geometry. These errors in the previous data release have been corrected and passed on to the primary sources responsible for providing the data (e.g. the National Land Survey).
Other updates and quality checks
In connection with the Quality checks some tracks (around 1800 elements) that should not have been included in Digiroad (primary source National Land Surveys road database), have been deleted as well as 40 other elements. Also some elements missing from Digiroad have been added. Several minor quality checks and corrections have been made and the quality has been improved. Results from testing the quality of some of the data object are published as a Digiroad Quality Report which is delivered with the data publication.
Changes have been made to the export of the Digiroad K –format, which simplifies the use of data in MapInfo (see Description of Data Objects: Appendix 6).
